The Bostonian´s paying the excise-man or tarring and feathering

1895_fs.jpg

The Liberty Tree was used by the British  for hanging criminals.

The Boston Tea Party is being shown in the background which took place in December 16, 1773.

Boston Commissioner of Customs, John Malcolm

This image was taken in 1774 in Boston and is depicts how colonists harmed people for disobeying the law with tar and feathers. The British photographer who took this image was to show and depict what Americans do. Both Americans and the British were able to see this and was intended to change their own opinion of the Americans. During this time there was the tea act in May 1773 where you had to pay taxes for tea which lead to the Americans dumping out tea of British boats.

This image shows police brutality in today's society. This has been an occurring problem in America today. There is still large amount of violence and is expressed through police brutality. This image still proves today that Americans are still these cruel and menacing people that have their own agenda. In 1774 there was a government and today we definitely have a government that most people don't agree with which leads them to do their own thing. As a society today we have some things fixed compared to 1774, but those same qualities those colonists had we still carry today.
